From Concept to Production for Turtles and Tees

This project highlights the design and development process for the Krissy Skort, a performance-driven skort created for Turtles and Tees' Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The goal was to merge style, comfort, and functionality, ensuring the product met high standards for fit, quality, and performance while incorporating a custom print design to enhance the brand’s identity.

Key Contributions:

• Fabric & Construction Development: Selected a 91% Polyester / 9% Spandex blend for durability, flexibility, and breathability.

• Print Creation & Development: Designed a custom, brand-specific print that aligned with the seasonal color palette and Turtles and Tees' aesthetic. Collaborated with print mills and suppliers to refine the artwork for fabric application.

• Fit & Sizing Strategy: Established graded measurements and conducted fit sessions to ensure a consistent and comfortable fit across sizes S-XL.

• Technical Design & Production Readiness: Developed detailed tech packs, including BOM (Bill of Materials), construction details, graded specs, and print placement guides for manufacturing precision.

• Labeling & Branding Elements: Designed and placed care labels, woven labels, and branding trims to enhance the retail presentation.

• Manufacturing & Quality Control: Worked closely with a Thailand-based factory to oversee production, ensuring construction accuracy, print clarity, and color consistency.

This project showcases the full-cycle development of a high-performance skort, from custom print creation and technical design to sample evaluation and final production execution.
